Fortune Dragon Temple (祥龙运转)
The Fortune Dragon
|
The Fortune
Dragon Temple has its mandarin name as ‘祥龙运转’. The meanings
are as follows:
Ø ‘祥’ means
fortunate
Ø ‘龙’ is the dragon
Ø
‘运转’ means the rotation of fortune
Literally, we know that it symbolizes ‘luck’. It is the latest popular
attractions in Yong Peng. It is a dragon tunnel with 107m long and 17.3m high
which has the title of the Southeast Asia’s longest dragon statue. This dragon
took about 3 years to complete and costs about RM8million over the whole
construction. It is located at the Yong Peng’ Che Ann Khor Moral Lifting
Society (永平德教会紫安阁).
We not merely able to enjoy
the exterior look of the dragon, however people can walk through it and it has different
kinds of art creations on the wall all the way in the dragon tunnel. It can be
entered from the mouth of dragon where there are staircases that lead into the
tunnel. The art creations in there are the narrative of Buddhists legends where
it expressed using the beauty of arts.
